Doug Fiedler, MD
Dr. Fiedler is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska where he attended Pius X High School and The University of Nebraska. He received his M.D. from The University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed his residency and fellowship training at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is board certified in the specialties of pulmonary disorders, critical care medicine, and sleep disorders. He has 15 years of experience in hospice care and also has experience in inpatient palliative care. In addition to being the Co-medical director at Hospice of Nebraska, he currently serves as the medical director for the sleep lab at CHI Health/St. Elizabeth’s and CHI Health/St. Francis.
Dr. Fiedler and Dr. Piper are passionate about hospice care because of the profound impact it has on the lives of their patients and families. They take very seriously the responsibility of providing comfort and dignity to those at the end of their lives and offering support during the most challenging times for loved ones. They both find deep fulfillment in being able to ease the journey of individuals during their final days, making a significant difference in their quality of life.
Ali Piper, MD
Dr. Piper was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. She graduated from UNL with a degree in biochemistry. She completed medical school and her internal medicine residency training at UNMC, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Creighton University. After completing her fellowship training in 2018 she returned to Lincoln to join Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties. She is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disorders, and critical care medicine. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Lancaster County Medical Society since 2020 and has been involved in hospice locally since 2022.
